Improving Young Lives Through Music Education
Children’s interests vary far and wide. Sometimes it’s a hobby to pass the time. Other times, it could be learning a new skill that reveals their innate talents. But what happens when a child gravitates toward a musical instrument like the violin? Do their parents simply pick one up as routinely as they would a gallon of milk at the grocery store? For many families in Chicago, it’s simply not that easy. Aside from the cost of the violin, other expenses include weekly lessons, a music stand and music books to name a few, and often times these expenses are too great for their income to justify.
